What Physical Therapy Can Do for You

Physical therapy can strengthen your body, improve your mobility and coordination, and enhance your quality of life. Whether you’ve suffered an injury, struggle with a debilitating medical condition, or are in the process of recovering from an illness, a skilled physical therapist can help. We will evaluate your condition and employ movement and stimulation techniques that will correct and improve your pain and function.

How Alliance Physical Therapy Can Help

At Alliance Physical Therapy, our skilled therapists will help you learn and perform movements that will function as strength and flexibility training. These regular exercises will promote the growth of healthy tissue at the affected areas of your body, which will gradually improve your ability to move and function on a day-to-day basis.

Our physical therapists will also employ any number of appropriate techniques to stimulate injured tissue and help you manage any pain and inflammation. Often the true power of these techniques comes in the skilled combination of them.  This is a case where the "whole is greater than the sum of it's parts." Some of our techniques include:

  • Electrical stimulation
  • Cold laser treatment
  • Ultrasound treatment
  • Mechanical traction
  • Moist heat
  • Cold packs
  • Tape techniques
  • Manual Therapy Techniques

Custom Orthotics

We are skilled in the assessment of foot and ankle pathology.  Sometimes our feet need some extra support to keep us moving with less pain.  There are cases when custom orthotics are needed, and our professionals are able to assess and evaluate for these needs.  If we determine that a pair of custom orthotics is needed in your case then we will cast you and order them for you.

Primary Care Physical Therapy

In the state of Pennsylvania Physical Therapists who undergo regular advanced training are able to see patients without a referral from a Physician.  This allows the injured individual to gain access to care faster which has been shown to decrease risk of chronic pain and prolonged healing in many injuries.  At Alliance we see a number of patients in a Direct Access capacity, but we do recognize that we are only part of the health care system and know that there are times to refer our patients to other medical practitioners.

Why You Should Contact Us Today

If you have been prescribed physical therapy by a primary care physician or need to seek it out on your own, don’t delay.  The longer you wait to begin effective treatment, the greater chance you have of inhibiting your body’s ability to heal properly.

Don’t resign yourself to pain and inconvenience for any longer than necessary.  Contact  Alliance Physical Therapy today to discuss your situation and therapy needs, and we can get you started on the road to recovery as soon as possible.
